A CONTROVERIAL FORUM EMERGES!

THE FREEDOM FORUM is a contoversial place where you can say anything you want. It was created by a few iClone users, but according to its' creators, you can post and say pretty much anything you want. Because of this though, there is an age restriction to 18 and over (which, as a parent, I totally support). If you're offended easily, this IS NOT the place for you. But it's definitely a place to let your hair down.
Another 3d artist who is absolutely iClone brilliant, will also be opening up a very cool iClone Forum. Although they're taking members now for testing, the official grand opening of www.iclonetutorials.com will be in mid April.
ALSO, stay tuned for MyClones for iClone's official 3d content online store, opening very soon. What a country, eh? Big thanks to Reallusion for re-vamping their licensing agreement. This is great! We need more iClone sites. We ALL benefit from iClone being promoted. So go for it, folks! Open a forum, open an online store, a YOUTUBE iClone group, post on Renderosity, open a blog site. Just spread the word that iClone is here, and you, the artists, are here to stay.

FREE 2.0 Character with Sexy Customized Outfit 4U

Well, iClone 2.0 is finally here, and I personally love it. I did however, think that the 9 new G2 characters would come with it, as well as the long dress iClone cloth. I was a bit disappointed that this would not be the case. But, nonetheless, it's an amazing next level in "iCloning". With the supplied cloth, I was able to create my first customized outfit. We're long overdue for a hot babe here at the blog, so for you, my fellow acolytes of the Machinima persuasion, here she is, live and UNCENSORED.
Here's how I did it.....
1) Click UPPER, MODIFY, DIFFUSE LAUNCH, template opens in PHOTOSHOP

2) I Choose the MAGIC WAND tool, CLICK in Template image, COPY, NEW, PASTE, it copies a new IMAGE, but with the body template now all in white.

3) I edit the image, keeping white on what I want to be the clothes, and black on what I do not want.

4) I SAVE A COPY as UPPER DIFFUSE, UPDATE, it applies, with white AND BLACK. Now to get rid of the black and replace with skin, I do the following...

5) Click OPACITY LAUNCH, Photoshop opens, I close the default image it brings up, and focus on the earlier edited image that I just saved as diffuse. I click SAVE A COPY, and save it as UPPER OPACITY. UPDATE, and it applies, now revealing the skin. Now to apply the texture over the white clothes....

6) Click DIFFUSE LAUNCH, close any image photoshop opens by default, and again, I only focus on the image I have been editing and saving. I bring in a texture, jpg, and simply copy and paste it over any white on the edited image. SAVE A COPY as UPPER DIFFUSE, UPDATE, and presto, .....Done!

Missed a Day, So Here Are 2 FREE Characters 4U

I usually post every day, or every other day. But I missed a day this week. Sorry, folks, .... been real swamped with stuff. But here are two oldies from my library. Shared them a while ago, so now you can get 'em if you missed out the first time. It's the comedy team of Cheney & Bush. They made over 200 shorts back in the 1930's, with Hal Roach. They eventually were blacklisted in Hollywood during The McCarthy Era.

FREE "Catwoman" CHARACTER 4U

One of the first things I discovered when I bought iClone a year ago, was the fact that you could re-shape the head of your characters just by pulling a few points here and there in your LOAD IMAGE mode. By pulling up the sides of the head, I was often able to make pointy ears or horns for a character. I did this for this Catwoman character, as well as Batman, and Wolverine. It's a pretty neat little feature. Easy enough to work with and effective enough for top results. So enjoy this old character of mine if you never got her before. I decided to give you the most recent version of Catwoman, based on the character Halle Berry played. Although Julie Newmar was a pretty sexy "fatal feline" on the old Batman series. But, still, Halle makes me go meeee-ow!

FREE 3d Scene 4U: OFFICE HALLWAY

I've realized something over the past few days. There are friends, and there are people you know. I think I may have only 5 true friends. This is not to say that I don't care for others. I do. But when a good friend asks you for something, it's no problem to answer their request. A friend of mine needed a hard-to-find 3d scene for a little movie I'm making for him. I obliged. But then I also realized, a person can get really caught up in one particular feature/function in iClone, and forget about all the other great possibilities within the program. As you know by now, my thing is creating characters. But today I tinkered around with the building blocks and made a 3d scene. Actually, the average iClone 3d scene would be good for a 360 degree pan. But this scene is more like an iClone set, kind of like in a stage play. You'll see what I mean when you download it. Grant it, I know it's not the greatest scene, but it still worked great for our project. Many artists, like Popeye, have blown me away when it comes to making 3d scenes for iClone ("well blow me down, Popeye"). But I tried it and found it quite easy to do. I think I'm going to make more scenes in the days to come, and try to be as creative as I can with it. Don't worry, the characters will keep a'coming. But for the scene, all I did was use the building blocks in the props section, give them texture, merge them, save them, then move them into the custom 3d Scene folder. I then saved it, naming it "Office Hallway". Anyway, I wanted to share it with you. You might find it useful for something. My friend said it's ok. Enjoy!

Viva L'Italia & FREE iClone Character, Yes FREE with Capital Letters and All!

I made these "Wise Guys" in iClone about a year ago. I've always loved Italians. When I was a kid growing up in Astoria, Queens, New York, I spent most of my days in my grandmother's Italian & Irish neighborhood. What amazing people I remember there. My step father was Sicilian. Every Saturday, he used to take me to the bar where he would hang out. Sounds like bad parenting, but it's a NY thing (it was harmless, I promise). He'd show me how to play pool there. Anyway, there's a scene in the movie "Goodfellas", where they walk into a bar, and you're introduced to all these Italian Wise Guys with names like "Nicky Eyes", Johnny Two Times", etc. Well, that's exactly how my step dad's hang out was. But I remember these guys being so bold, and unafraid to speak their minds. Although I don't advocate the way these guys used to do business, I did however always admire the no backing down and ballsy attitude they had. I think that's why I don't take $h%t from anyone. I was constantly surrounded by people like this. And my hat goes off to everyone else who refuses to be $hit on a shoe, .... Ciao.

FREE Character 4U: "Legolas"

I'm a HUGE "Lord of the Rings" fan. My whole family is. I had written about my LOTR addiction in a previous post. I also shared a very cool Gollum character in that same post. So here's another great iClone created character for you from the LOTR trilogy, ... "Legolas". This is a character file. Bow and arrows not included. Funny, ... you think of Elves as being these jolly little dudes wishing they could be dentists and singing "Holly Jolly Christmas". Well, 'ol Legolas put that myth to rest. He's one ass kickin' elf.

FREE Character 4U: "The Riddler"

You guys like Batman? As a kid, I was a fan of the old 1960's Batman series. It's funny how the show was considered cool at the time. But then within a decade, you looked back at it and said, "Man, this was pretty corny". Adam West was great. But having him play Batman, was kind of like having your dad play the part. Not really the ideal candidate to wear tights, you know? My favorite things on the show were the villains. Like the ever re-casted Catwoman. Or Cesar Romero as the Joker (the Joker with an on again, off again Spanish accent). And although the Riddler was also played by John Astin (original Gomez Adams), my favorite actor in the role, was the late Frank Gorshin. He gave such character to the Riddler. Jim Carrey also did a pretty interesting job in the Batman film released a few years ago. Nowadays, "Batman" is the shiznit again. And the old series is looked upon as a cool, retro "cult" following type of show. So here's an old iClone PROJECT FILE of the Riddler I shared a while back. FREE Character 4U & New Character Reel

I posted a new character reel at YOUTUBE, showing an all new cast of characters I've created since my previous reel. However, this time, I focused more on the voices. When I sell characters at Reallusion, I usually include about 10 CTS files (voice phrase files). They're great because they can be used over and over again, for ANY character in iClone. So check out my new reel below. It demonstrates the CTS files.
In one of the last scenes, there is a "Guard" character kicking some alien ass. I've also included him here as your FREE character download for today. Enjoy!

FREE "Sorry Gift" Character 4U: "Wolverine"

I feel kind of embarrassed about posting that download link at Reallusion, for iClone 2.0 Beta (which, by the way, has now been fixed). So to make up for it, I'd like to give you guys one of the first Super Hero characters I ever created in iClone. Here's my iClone version of "Wolverine". I shared him about a year ago, but here he is again for all you folks who weren't around at the time. I love this character. You will too. iClone 2.0 BETA Now Available!

Ok, Reallusion has offered everybody a sample of the new upcoming iclone 2.0, by allowing a download of the beta version. Very cool of them! I had been using the beta to create many of the iClone character project files I've posted here. So now, if you install this beta version, you won't have any problems opening those projects. Again, this is just the beta version and not the official 2.0 full version (which is supposed to be available around the 20th). But you MUST check it out and give it a spin. You guys are gonna love this!

Recently, I had written about the importance of using hi-res textures for your characters. But this is a character made with low-res textures. Despite this, he still came out really cool. He's a pretty tough dude. Meet "Renegade". He plays by his own rules, and answers to no one. If there's a score to settle, he'll be sure to end the debate. This is a character file, so it'll open just fine after your download. Just put him in your iClone character CUSTOM folder. Please use this character only for fun and not commercially. ERROR MESSAGES ANYONE?

THIS JUST IN: It's been brought to my attention that since I made many of my project files in iClone Beta version 2.0, they may not be opening for iClone users who have version 1.52 or under. I'm sorry about this, folks. Didn't realize. Please save any of the project file(s) below that you have already downloaded, and when you upgrade to 2.0 (which officially comes out this month) they should open fine. I'm told the CHARACTER files open fine in any version, but not the PROJECT files. Now MOST of the Freebies I've posted here ARE character files, so there's no problem with those. But there were a few PROJECT files with characters in them, like the one I posted a couple of days ago. So hang in there, folks, ... 2.0 is coming. But from here on, until 2.0 officially comes out, any new freebies I post here, will be character files only.

Ok, I admit it. I dig making iClone babes. But so do about a million other 3d artists. Don't believe me? Go to Renderosity and see for yourself. After all, it's probably the closest we animation geeks will ever get to a babe (just kiddin', guys). Anyway, here's a cute "toon" babe. I call her "Loni the Starlet". She's a real heart breaker, eh? She's guaranteed to make any Tex Avery zoot suited wolf howl. Just another example of the amazing possibilities with iClone.
Amazing what those building blocks can do, eh?
